The Act deprived lonely and childless people of preferential loans. This is about to change. Singles will also get a preferential loan for a flat in the bank because MPs propose that loans to which the state pays off should also be available to lonely people.
This is a kind of promotional campaign – including for these reasons – they are not very popular. By the end of February this year, banks had granted them to 4,805 persons for the amount of USD 530 million. Members want to change this.
The first reading of the project
By left-wing deputies, of the amendment to the law on financial support for families in purchasing their own apartment took place. Parliamentarians suggest that lonely and childless people can also take out loans.
At the moment, this is not possible, only families and single parents can apply for credit. This restriction closes the road to the preferential loan for many millions of young people who do not have their own roof over their heads and do not want to wait for family and children.
Another suggestion concerns the criteria for granting a loan. – We propose that the state subsidize the interest rate on the entire loan taken out for the purchase of a flat up to 75 sq m or a single-family house up to 140 sq m – informs one of the co-authors of the project, Wiesław Szczepański. Now the subcommittee is to deal with the project.
Currently, the surcharge is only for a specific number of meters. In the case of a flat – up to a maximum of 50 sq m, a house 70 sq m, there is another limitation: the total area of the flat cannot exceed 75 sq m, and the house – 140 sq m
Deputies’ proposals to amend this law are not the only ones being prepared. The Ministry of Infrastructure is working on its project.
This project goes much further
The ministry wants, for example, that the person concerned has the right to take out a loan for several purposes, e.g. for construction and renovation, and to be able, to sum up, the family’s income. He explains this by the fact that currently, many interested parties have a closed path to this loan because they do not have creditworthiness.
We would like to remind you that a loan taken out under the Act can be issued for the purchase of an apartment or a single-family house on the secondary or primary market (purchase of the property or cooperative ownership right).
The Act also allows taking a loan for an extension, reconstruction or extension of a residential building, e.g. adaptation of an attic for an apartment. Provided, however, that as a result of the work undertaken, a new residential unit will be built.
