Central Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force Receives $ 575,000 Grant
ST. CLOUD – A local task force working to combat human trafficking has received a large grant.
The Central Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force on Friday received a two-year grant of $ 575,000 from the Minnesota Office of Justice Programs. The funding will help the working group to continue its work and increase its resources.
The task force is made up of a partnership of many state and local organizations and law enforcement agencies, including the Stearns County Attorney’s Office, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the Stearns County Department of St. Cloud Police, Waite Park Police Department, Terebinth Shelter, and Catholic Charities.
The Central Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force began in 2018 and has so far received over 350 denunciations, investigated over 100 cases, charged 44 felonies and supported over 239 victims of trafficking. .
