Kate Winslet and her daughter Mia Threapleton are set to star in the feature debut of Dominic Savage’s female drama I Am, with a three-week shoot beginning in late April.

The episode, titled I Am Ruth, is part of the third Channel 4 anthology drama trilogy, produced by Me+You Productions. Each episode is named after its main character and is developed in creative partnership with the main cast, using semi-improvised dialogue.

Winslet said: I have always admired Dominic’s work and, in particular, his commitment to telling true stories. UK television is at an all time high, and I feel excited and honored to be part of this community, especially at this time.

Savage added: “It’s a complete honor for me to work and collaborate with Kate Winslet on this first film in the new series of I Am for Channel 4. Kate is such a legend, incredible and sublime acting talent. , and I can’t wait to start shooting this unique and important story that we’ve created together.

Caroline Hollick, Head of Drama, Channel 4, said: “To bring an actress of Kate Winslet’s caliber to the channel is incredibly exciting and a testament to the series’ groundbreaking storytelling, which we are delighted to bring back for a third time. The collaboration between her, Mia, and Dominic Savage produced a compelling, heartbreaking, and ultimately very relatable character for our time in Ruth. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds on screen.

Executive producers are Richard Yee (co-founder of Me+You) and Savage, overseen by Channel 4’s Hollick and Gemma Boswell. The series is produced by Me+You co-founder Krishnendu Majumdar and Josh Hyams.
